Satinvævet på forsiden, mat på bagsiden og i et væld af farver, er denne silke meget alsidig og nem at arbejde med. Den er ikke lige så “flydende” som almindelige silkesatin, hvilket gør at den giver et godt hold og struktur mens den stadig har det flotte skær som man forbinder med en luksuriøs satin.

En Duchess silke bliver brugt meget i Haute Couture, Gala og Brudekjoler, hvor der skal være god volumen i designet. Den er også perfekt, at besætte med perler og broderi.
